Janet married Oliver Ludwig and they have three children. Kyle (19) studied at the University of Natal, where he played rugby, pushed weights in the gym, and was a bit of a maths boffin. He now works for an IT company. Jade (17) is doing beauty therapy. She is also a keen swimmer, and is the arty one of the family. Dale (15) is in matric, and is a keen swimmer and has his Natal Coastal colours as well as Durban and Districts colours for chess. Janet and Oliver were divorced in 2005.
Janet is a Nursing Sister, but has also spent a lot of her time on raising and organising her three children. She is a keen long distance open water swimmer, with a couple of Midmar Miles under the belt. Janet successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2002.
