At present, 9 of the 22 rooms are open to the public, including not only reception rooms such as the ladies' drawing room, gentlemen's library, music room and dining room, but also a bedroom, bathroom, pantries and the kitchen
A unique feature of 'Lindfield' is the comprehensive nature of its contents: each room on show is fully furnished and equipped, just as it would have been when the house was first lived in. the kitchen is ready for staff to prepare daily meals; the bathroom invites one to step into the boxed-in cast iron bath; in the library one is tempted to browse away the day among the fascinating books lining the walls. In the drawing room a table is laid 'at home' tea, while the dining room table awaits a party of elegant dinner guests.
Daily tours are personally guided by the present owner, Katharine Love, in the guise of a Victorian parlour maid, and may be tailored to suit special-interest groups. Each tour lasts approximately 1 hour 20 minutes and is followed by tea, coffee and light refreshments.
