Gail Unger says that according to her mother (hearsay from Jack), the white streak in his hair occurred overnight. "It seems he was 27, down a manhole doing repairs, and a train passed overhead, luckily not taking his head off. That could be true or [loss of pigmentation] just happened to kick in about then."
