Any possible connection to Eugen Sandow (1867-1925), the internationally famous strongman, is as yet unknown, but quite unlikely.
Eugen Sandow (born Friedrich Wilhelm Mueller, (2 April 1867 - 14 October 1925) was a German bodybuilder and showman
from Prussia using the Bulgarian last name Sandow as a pseudonym (Germanizing his Russian mother's maiden name, Sandov).
His father was German, while his mother was of Russian descent.
Born in Konigsberg (now Kaliningrad, Russia),
Sandow became interested in bodybuilding at the age of ten during a visit to Italy.
