Christine qualified from the Johannesburg College of Education (JCE) in 1980 and taught in Brackenhurst, Alberton until emigrating to New Zealand in 1997. She is married with three sons, and lives in Auckland. Christine and her husband Gary both hold senior management positions at schools in Auckland. She still keeps in contact with Beverley Bender, Regina Rodrigues, and Heidi Ruckert.
