Officer killed at Waterfront
He was described as an incredible father and husband, a lover of sport, a poet and a wonderful co-worker. Police reservist and security officer, Rudolf Wagener (29) of Malanshof, was shot and killed on Monday morning during an armed robbery at the Pick 'n Pay, Randburg Waterfront.
A friend in need
Sherry Chen (Johannesburg Metropolitan Councillor and chairperson of Friends of the Police) hands over a cheque to Pretty Shabangu, widow of Sergeant Zanempi Shabangu of Linden police station who was killed in the line of duty. Shabangu is survived by his two children Ntokozo Thokozani (4) and Nqobile Samukeliswe (6). Commander Superintendent Mabalane Mohale of Linden police comforts the family.

The vicious murder of Anna Christina Annandale, owner of Vagabonds, an English pub on the corner of Bond Street and Hendrik Verwoerd Drive, Ferndale follows several senseless attacks on restaurateurs in the Randburg precinct in the past six months.
